Sticky Sticky

“Don’t play with food” is a familiar saying. “sticky sticky” begins with glutinous rice, whose stickiness forms the foundation of the meal. Participants shape with their hands, eat together, and listen to the sounds of chewing. Gestures often associated with “uncivilised” or rural behaviour are brought into a shared space. The work attends to the stigma around ways of eating, making a sound often hidden or considered inappropriate something to experience collectively.
