Fragment a Participatory Radio Ballett
SOMAPHON 2026 starts its programme with an evening of performances in public space. On the Stéphane-Hessel-Platz, in front of the Bauhaus Museum, the festival begins with the participatory radio ballet "Fragment", which investigates the boundaries between private and public life through experiences in real and virtual worlds. Participants are invited to explore the tension between their digital and offline existence, and to consider how social relations, human togetherness and social networks intersect. What is public? What is private? How do actions in digital space affect physical lifeworlds?
The work asks how information on screens is transformed into physical perception. It approaches these questions through a participatory, auditory format in which visitors enter a shared situation rather than remain only spectators. The focus is on the shifting relation between mediated information, bodily experience and the ways that public and private life are continuously reconfigured.
Since 2014, Körperklangkollektiv has developed participatory audio-mediation formats for cultural institutions and events. The seven artists have presented work at festivals, education events and conferences, and have previously collaborated with NEW NOW Biennale, Hygienemuseum Dresden, Leipziger Buchmesse, Viva con Agua and Lemonaid.
